Quiconnect Hotspot Robot

With many wireless broadband networks based around local geographies, interconnecting these into global roaming networks presents challenges for testing and monitoring. Quiconnect’s patented Hotspot Robot provides advanced capabilities in remote testing and monitoring. A wireless access point with special features added to allow it to be remotely controlled, it is provided to Network Operators for easy installation to their networks. This provides a virtual point-of-presence at a local hotspot.

Integration testing

During the integration process and following subsequent changes to the network, Hotspot Robot allows Quiconnect integration engineers to perform critical login tests on the network. Through this virtual local presence, testing can be completed without the need for a local physical presence. Not only does this reduce the expense of travel but it also reduces the load on Network Operators and allows a faster response to any problems.

Monitoring capabilities for Network Operators

In providing a high-quality network service, continuity of the login experience is critical. Monitoring the servers is one key step taken by Network Operators but to truly control the end-user experience, availability should be measured all the way to the customer.

Just as Hotspot Robot brings efficiency to the integration process for Quiconnect’s engineers, this local virtual presence is also valuable for Network Operators needing to test and monitor their own physical hotspot networks. Quiconnect provides a remote testing suite comprised of Hotspot Robots and a web-based Test Manager to allow Operators to define, schedule and report on testing.
