WiMAX

WiMAX is a whole new generation of wireless network promising greater range, lower cost and higher speeds than today’s networks.

WiMAX provides the capability for a range of services including data, voice, gaming and multimedia to be offered to large subscriber bases over a single IP-based network in a cost effective and high performance way.

It is this flexibility which makes WiMAX appropriate for a diverse range of applications from mobile voice through to last-mile data links for business and residential use. The development roadmap for customer equipment sees the WiMAX and Wi-Fi chipset merging in 2009, which means that ultimately a large range of equipment will ship with WiMAX capabilities built-in, building a huge addressable market of connected devices.

Have a large WiMAX network? Roaming increases the profitability of your network and allows your customers to benefit from other WiMAX networks.

  • Running a smaller WiMAX deployment to provide local data services? Use roaming to ensure that when your customers are traveling that they can still turn to you to provide connectivity using Wi-Fi even where WiMAX coverage is not available.

Quiconnect's WiMAX solution is in place today. This opens the door to both WiMAX-to-WiMAX but also WiMAX-to-Wi-Fi roaming, enabling you to provide coverage in the areas which are important to your customers, while you build out your WiMAX footprint.

Quiconnect's solution includes:

The Quiconnect Interconnect Platform adapted for WiMAX to WiMAX and WiMAX to Wi-Fi interconnectivity

A large and accessible roaming footprint of hotspots for your customers

Device connectivity toolkit to get all types of applications and services on a range of devices connected to the network.

Using Quiconnect’s Interconnect Platform and services you can open up roaming to your customers, providing a virtual network which spans different network types using the one set of credentials.
