Built on solid Open Source foundations with our own proprietary extensions, Quiconnect’s platform provides all the features required to bring together virtual networks for global wireless access.
RADIUS proxy
Customer login facilitated through the RADIUS protocol is at the core of Authentication, Authorisation and Accounting (AAA) for Wi-Fi networks. To reduce the number of technical interfaces required between parties Quiconnect provides RADIUS proxy services; one connection to Quiconnect via a secure IPsec tunnel allows RADIUS communication with multiple partners without the need to interconnect directly with each one. This reduces the effort and cost involved, not only to set up these connections but also to support and maintain them.
RADIUS attribute translation
While the RADIUS standard covers the key aspects of access control to wireless networks, the application of the standard can vary across networks. RADIUS attributes will be interpreted differently, or in some cases particular attributes used by some partners will not be used at all by others. Quiconnect will work with the parties to an interconnection to align the application of RADIUS between partners. Where this is not possible due to technical limitations Quiconnect's RADIUS platform can bridge the gap by translating attributes or even adding missing data to ensure trouble-free authentication.
Financial clearing and settlement
Quiconnect's Interconnect Platform allows customers to combine their roaming relationships, to simplify the management of these arrangements not only technically but also commercially. Quiconnect can provide consolidation of invoicing and payments, allowing you to deal with only one invoice no matter how extensive your roaming network or how many partners are connected to your physical hotspot network. This extends to settlement and management of currency conversions, significantly reducing the administrative overhead of roaming.

As each partner is connected to Quiconnect, expanding the virtual network, careful planning is required to ensure that the integration happens quickly, smoothly and with minimal resource load from our customers. Our automated interconnection gap analysis is a great example of this. Customers log into our Interconnect Management Portal and are led through a structured information gathering process, collecting detailed information about the way in which the customer's network is configured, the technical requirements they place on other partners and the type of user experience which they wish to provide for end customers. Once each partner to the interconnection has provided their responses our system analyses the information supplied and provides the requirements for the integration.
