New sales and technical staff appointed at Quiconnect to drive global WLAN adoption and collaboration among service providers and network operators.
Quiconnect, a specialist systems integrator offering interconnectivity services and applications in the wireless broadband sector, announces today a series of new sales staff appointments. Five senior business development professionals have been recruited to create new opportunities with network operators and service providers worldwide, as well as capitalise and grow business from Quiconnect’s existing client base. The company has also appointed two technical staff to augment its IT team based in France.
Quiconnect supplies tools, technologies and services to enable service providers and network operators to offer their customers the ability to roam easily and reliably on different WLAN networks, along with competitively priced, branded user experiences across these multiple networks, platforms and applications. Key customers include BT, Sprint, Orange France, Portugal Telecom, AT&T, The Cloud, Internet Solutions, Kubi Wireless, Naxos, Meteor Networks among others.
Jeff Mabe, Quiconnect’s worldwide commercial director, says, “We’ve had great success finalising partnership agreements with high profile telcos and network operators internationally – companies who have recognised that our innovative approach to facilitating easy to use WLAN on the move adds value to their customers and in turn increases their revenue streams. Our goal is to build on this by growing existing relationships, creating new ones and pushing aggressively in the marketplace. The new sales team has been employed to do just this, capitalising on our ever increasing presence and reputation in the WLAN interconnect arena.”
Simon Amos joins bringing over 15 years experience to Quiconnect of hardware and software sales to carriers, large national and multi national enterprises through direct, channel and two tier distribution. Simon has held a variety of business development, key account and business unit management roles in organisations such as Cabletron Systems, Bay Networks, Nortel Networks, Juniper Networks and Aprisma Network Management. He will be predominately responsible for managing Quiconnect’s BT relationship – a key strategic deal signed in May 2006 – as well as creating new business opportunities in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Arthur Holcombe has been appointed to develop new business with high value network operators and service providers in EMEA and Asia. He is also tasked with driving Quiconnect’s overall commercial approach to WiMAX, and (along with Simon) the Wireless Broadband Alliance initiative. He brings over 12 years business development experience to Quiconnect having worked in companies including Dow Jones and The Cloud.
Next, Ryan Manfred has been appointed with responsibility to grow Quiconnect’s existing relationships with Sprint and AT&T, as well as creating new opportunities with telcos and network operators in North and South America. With over 13 years experience in network design, consulting and sales roles for both national and multi national companies, Ryan has worked for companies such as Cisco Systems, AT&T, Owens Corning, Dynavar Networking Corporation, RAM Tech, Enterasys Networks, Nortel Networks and Integrated Management Systems.
To manage and expand Quiconnect’s relationship with Kubi Wireless, Internet Solutions and Portugal Telecom along with a remit to generate other business, Vina Datta completes the new sales team, bringing 10 years sales experience in a direct and indirect channel environment working for companies including TeleWare, Easynet, UUNET (a WorldCom company) and Ebone Broadband. Highly results focused, she has a proven track record of sales and account development success.
To augment Quiconnect’s IT team, predominately located in France, Fabien Gauthier has been appointed as senior service delivery engineer in charge of customer interconnections, primarily acting as a technical account manager for BT. With a PhD in Experimental Physics and a Masters in Computer Science from the Université Joseph Fourier, Grenoble, Fabien has 5 years experience in wireless and telecommunications network technologies.
With some 10 years IT and telco expertise, Simon Pasquier joins as a software engineer responsible for developing applications, managing Quiconnect’s customer portal and working from a networking perspective on the interconnect platform. Prior to this, Simon spent four years at both HP’s telecom R&D department in Grenoble, and the Société Générale de Téléinformatique, a French software and services company that develops media solutions designed for broadcasters.
