Quiconnect launches Quictrac
Flexible interconnection service which provides fast access to global networks in the form of a virtual network specific to the Service Provider.
Service Providers face many challenges including
- Quicker deployment of roaming agreements needed
- Limited technical resources dedicated to WiFi deployment
- Pressure to reduce costs and increase revenues
Quiconnect has sought to address these needs by launching 'Quictrac'. Quictrac is an interconnection service which provides fast access to global networks. It comprises of a selection of 'pre-interconnected' networks from which the Service Provider can build their own virtual network by:-
- selecting particular networks from the 'pre- interconnected' networks based on the Service Provider's coverage targets
- adding bi-lateral agreements either with additional networks or one of the networks from the 'pre-interconnected' list.
How does Quictrac differ from existing aggregator models?
- Flexibility to create your own virtual network
o Quictrac network is only the starting point - networks can be added or taken away from the footprint as per your requirements
o Bi-lateral connections continue to be an integral part of the offering
o Networks can be added based on Service Provider coverage targets
o No global flat rate. Rate is calculated per Network Operator
o One contract - via proxy for existing customers or by new agreement
o Portal-controlled Virtual Network - (on roadmap)
- Quality vs quantity - minimum interface standards & security requirements ensured.
o On-going monitoring of networks of AAA system and IP sec (authentication and connectivity)
o Wispr support, basic security, visibility of configuration of each network in virtual network
- Network Operator and Service Provider brand extension available
- Match hotspot footprint to subscriber profile
