(www.quiconnect.com) is a young venture-backed company operating in the global communications technology services space.  Customers include medium and large mobile and fixed-line telephone operators and ISPs providing mobile broadband IP services to end users.  Quiconnect currently has offices in the UK (London), France (Grenoble) and the US (San Diego), and will soon be opening an office in South East Asia.

Quiconnect is seeking an experienced and highly-motivated Sr. Account Management / Sales Executive to handle large accounts in the US, Canada, and South America.  This position reports directly to the Worldwide Commercial Director, and represents an outstanding opportunity for a qualified sales executive to help drive the company successfully through its critical high-growth phase.

The selected candidate will have functional responsibility for all account management, sales, and sales development in the Americas region, including implementing and executing a robust sales plan, with emphasis on key clients such as telecom operators and international ISPs. You can operate across broad a range of activities and on your own initiative.  You like to tackle both strategic thinking and tactical doing in the course of your everyday work, and you have proven competence in both areas. 

Key requirements
  • Experience managing / selling into telecommunications operators & service providers
  • Strong technical ability, with written and spoken communication skills
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience; international experience a plus
  • Technical background in areas of wireless connectivity, mobility solutions, vertical applications
  • Demonstrable ability to open up new and relevant sales leads
  • Ability to navigate intra-customer politics to achieve support at senior levels
  • Proven ability to drive to a consensus and closure where multiple influencers are involved in the customer’s decision-making process
  • Recognised success in closing high-value deals
  • Understanding of basic legal issues related to commercial contracts
  • Experience with international cross-border commercial contracts
  • Ability to travel at least 30% and up to 70% of the time
Additional desired characteristics
  • University level education; ideally management and/or technical degrees
  • Native or fluent in English, with a knowledge of Spanish and Portuguese (additional languages desirable)
  • International experience and sensitive to cultural differentiation
  • Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts into simplified easy-to-understand business benefits from the customer’s perspective
  • At least a basic understanding of IP networking technologies
  • Small company fit; willingness to do both the low-level work and strategic work
  • Positive, optimistic, motivated; hands-on hard worker and good team player
