Role description
Quiconnect is seeking an experienced professional qualified to perform technical field services and support for ongoing customer accounts dealing primarily with technical level relations. The candidate will be expected to deal directly with technical details related to integrating business partners into Quiconnect's Internet service network.

Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications
  • Technical field support experience
  • Understanding of wireless, broadband and telecommunications network technologies
  • Knowledge of IT network configuration and management
  • Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems
  • Experience in scripting languages such as PERL, Ruby, Python, etc.
  • Engineering or technical degree
  • Fluent English speaker

Candidates possessing the above qualifications will be considered for the Field Service Engineer (FSE) position, reporting to the Director of Service Delivery. The FSE will have technical responsibility for post sales integration services and support. Candidates will be required to provide front line services and support for partners' technical problems. Up to 50% of an FSE's time will be spent away from the office interfacing with business partners in order to develop specific customer extensions to Quiconnect’s platform, to perform field diagnostics and some scripting activities, to help to resolve technical issues and to gather SLA metrics. The successful candidate will also be required to perform periodic after business hours work to support planned engineering activities for Quiconnect and its customers. Due to the evolving state of the company the specific day-to-day responsibilities of the job will also evolve over time.
