BT Selects Quiconnect for interconnect service agreements
BT selects Quiconnect to establish multiple bilateral WLAN interconnect service agreements with third-party service providers and network operators
Quiconnect has signed a contract with BT to establish multiple bilateral WLAN interconnect service and access agreements with third party telecommunications and network operators worldwide. The deal is effective immediately with new services expected to begin in the first quarter of 2006. The partnership with Quiconnect will continue to increase the number of public hotspots that BT customers have access to and is another step towards public Wi-Fi access being similar to the cashpoint system whereby all users can access Wi-Fi through everyone else’s secure networks. BT will also continue to work with the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) and customers can benefit from the international roaming arrangements already in place with other WBA members.
