WiMAX Forum
The WiMAX Forum is an industry-led, non-profit organisation formed to promote and certify compatibility and interoperability of broadband wireless products.
Its member companies support the industry-wide acceptance of the IEEE 802.16 and ETSI HiperMAN wireless MAN standards. The Forum works to promote global WiMAX deployments and to make WiMAX the platform of choice for broadband wireless.
The Fixed-Mobile Convergence Alliance (FMCA)
The Fixed-Mobile Convergence Alliance (FMCA) is a global, non-profit organisation focused on providing today's and tomorrow's Convergence customers with high-quality, seamless and ease to use products and services. The FMCA is not a Standards Development Organisation. It therefore does not aim to create standards but rather to accelerate the adoption of the Convergence technologies by encouraging consistency across product and equipment standards.
The FMCA Vendor Affiliation Programme (VAP) provides a framework for joint telecom operator and vendor collaboration towards the delivery of the FMCA Priority Programmes:
- 1. Customer-driven product and service requirements.
- 2. Harmonisation of FMCA Operator-Vendor roadmaps and visions.
- 3. Reduction of the time it takes for new services to hit the market.
- 4. Knowledge sharing at technical and market levels.
The aim being to identify as well as address key technical requirements through the timely generation and delivery of Work Items which may form part of final Product Requirement Definitions, PRD's, and other publishable technical materials.
ACI
Airports Council International (ACI) is the international association of the world's airports.
Created in 1991, it is a non-profit organisation which fosters a safe, secure, efficient and environmentally compatible transport system among its member airports and partners in world aviation, including governments, airlines and aircraft manufacturers.
Quiconnect is a World Business Partner of the ACI and is actively working to promote consistent wireless data and voice broadband access at airports worldwide.
The ACI has its world headquarters in Geneva.
